Iron Dragon Martial Arts opened in 2008 in Colorado Springs, founded by Sensei Marcus Webb after nearly 20 years of training, competing, and coaching in Shotokan Karate. What began as a small 2,000-square-foot dojo with 30 students has grown into a 6,500-square-foot training facility serving over 300 active members.
The dojo’s name honors the balance of fire and water in the martial arts spirit — the intensity of commitment paired with the fluid adaptability that defines a true practitioner. We train fighters and we build people. Every black belt earned here represents years of consistent dedication, not just physical skill.
We believe martial arts training is a lifelong practice. Every class is structured to develop technical precision, physical conditioning, and mental fortitude simultaneously. Beginners learn safe, foundational movement. Advanced students refine nuance and compete. Every student grows at their own pace within a unified, respectful training culture.
Our curriculum is governed by the USA National Karate Federation for Karate, the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation for BJJ, and the World Muay Thai Federation for striking. Rank promotions are earned through standardized testing — no pay-to-promote practices, no shortcuts.
Sensei Webb holds a 6th-degree black belt in Shotokan Karate, certified by the USA National Karate Federation with over 25 years of competitive and coaching experience.
Coach Torres is a black belt under Rodrigo Gracie, part of the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu lineage — the most recognized name in the sport worldwide.
Since 2008, Iron Dragon has promoted over 120 students to black belt rank across Karate and BJJ, a testament to the integrity of our curriculum.
